Serves 4
Ingredients:
- 2 kg pork ribs
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup Hotmess Super Gong Sauce
- 1 cup beef or chicken broth
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 180 *C
Prepare the Pork Ribs:- Season the pork ribs generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Sear the pork ribs in batches until they are browned on all sides. Transfer the ribs to a slow cooker or oven tray as they brown.
- Pour the Hotmess Super Gong Sauce mixed with garlic over the seared pork ribs in the slow cooker or tray.
- Add the beef or chicken broth to the slow cooker or tray making sure that the ribs a covered with liquid, if in tray cover with sheet of foil.
- Cover and cook on low heat or at 180*C for 6 hours, or until the pork ribs are tender and falling off the bone.
- Once the pork ribs are cooked, carefully remove them from the slow cooker or oven tray and place them on a serving platter.
- Strain the sauce from the slow cooker into a saucepan and simmer over medium heat until it thickens slightly, about 5-10 minutes.
- Pour the thickened sauce over the pork ribs.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired.
- Serve the slow-cooked sticky pork ribs with jasmine rice or thai sticky rice and asian style slaw.
